Blank
The calendar is blank, today;
Empty, like my gas tank
syphoned by the monotony of routine.
Blank should be a good thing;
A push to lounge on the porch swing,
A restful scene,
But, alas, my mind is blank
Like my face,
My lips, no smile will hold.
Blank
Like the look in my eye.
Blank like the space inside my piggy bank.
Well, blankety-blank-blank...

...I need a blanket.
